FOR
KLEENOIL FILTRATION UNITS

Description

The Kleenoil Filtration unit is made of cast aluminum with a galvanized steel mounting bracket. There are three basic sizes, which are installed according to the applications table below. The unit is connected to engine, or the lubricating oil circulating system, in a bypass loop using high pressure braided hose and fittings to SAE standards.

Cannister Specifications
Pressures Maximum rating of 147psi or 10 Bar. Lid torque is 24 to 28 lbs ft.
Oil Flow Rate Output oil pressure levels are dependent on the viscosity, temperature, degree of contamination and oil pressure. (Guide - For SAE 15W/40 oil at 158*F and 60psi, the flow rate would be around 0.55 gallons per minute to 0.81 gallons per minute)
Operating Temperature Within operating specifications of the engine, gear and hydraulic oils.
Filtration Level ISO 14/9 equivalent to NAS 1638 class 6 - hydraulic oil specification. Particulate contamination in accordance with ISO/DIS 4406.
Castings Constructed of Aluminum to BS 1490 LM6 (M) Subjected to batch and individual testing.
In accordance with our policy of continuous improvement, we reserve the right to alter technical specifications without prior notice.

** Before using a Kleenoil Filtration unit as a diesel filter, please consult your account manager. All flow rates have been restricted. These restrictions must be eliminated before use with diesel fuel.

KLEENOIL FILTRATION CARTRIDGES
Description
The Kleenoil Filtration cartridge is made of densely wound pure coniferous long fiber wood pulp paper. It is held together in a material casing and comes in specified sizes for use in the appropriate filtration units as shown in the specification table below.

Action of the Cartridge
The filtration cartridge acts both by absorption and by adsorption in a continuous recycling process. The long fibers of the paper attract the water formed either through the combustion process or by condensation. These fibers then absorb the water like a sponge. At the same time the paper rejects the oil molecules which are forced to pass between the tight windings of the cartridge. As the oil passes through the cartridge, minute carbon, wear metals, and silicon particles are extracted from the oil by adhering to the many surfaces of the filter - a process known as adsorption. Thus the cartridge, by removing water, inhibits the production of acids which degrade the oil and cause excessive wear. The simultaneous removal of minute contaminants as they occur enables the oil life to be extended within its original operating specification. A rule of thumb allows for oil change intervals to be extended up to 10 times the original OEM recommendation.

Important Note: Does Not Remove Additive Elements.
Certain components are purposely placed in lubrication oil to make it effective. Some of these additives include dispersants, detergents, oxidation and rust inhibitors, metal de-activators, pour-point depressants, antifoaming and gelling additives. These additives are held in suspension and their levels can be critical if the oil is to maintain its beneficial qualities. While the Kleenoil Filtration system is removing dirt, contaminants, wear metal particles and water, it is NOT removing the oil additives needed for continued use. It is continuously safeguarding these desirable elements compounded within the actual oil.
